Formula 1 adopts carbon-neutral fuel with record pricing in 2026

Starting with the 2026 season, Formula 1 has introduced a new, highly advanced fuel that costs approximately 250 euros per liter, representing a tenfold increase compared to previous racing fuels. This shift is not driven by fuel shortages or geopolitical instability, but rather by new technical regulations implemented by the FIA.

The fuel is composed entirely of synthetic e-fuels or advanced biofuels, eschewing all fossil-based components.
