APOEL kicks off centenary celebrations with official events

APOEL, the historic Cypriot football club, has officially launched its centenary celebrations marking 100 years since its foundation. The club's organized supporters held a symbolic motorcade on July 31, 2026, traveling between key locations significant to the club's identity, including the grave of Georgios Poulias, the old GSP stadium, the monument of EOKA hero Michalakis Karaolis, and the Makareio Stadium.

Following the fan-led events, the APOEL athletic club and its associated public football company have announced the first formal commemorative event. This celebration is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 20:00, held at the Open Amphitheater of the old GSP. The evening is intended to honor the club's history, core values, and evolution throughout the past century.

During the upcoming event, the club will unveil its official centenary logo, which will be utilized by all teams for the 2026-2027 season. Attendees will also be shown a specially produced commemorative video documenting the history of the club's emblem, known as the 'Blue-Yellow Shield.' This event marks the beginning of a series of activities planned for the landmark anniversary year.
