APOEL kicks off centenary celebrations with special events and commemorative jersey

APOEL FC has officially entered its centenary year, marking 100 years since the club's founding in 1926. To launch the celebrations, organized supporters held a large-scale motorcade through historic locations, including the tomb of George Poulias, the old GSP stadium, and the monument of Michalakis Karaolis. The club's management announced the first official ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 20:00 at the Old GSP Amphitheatre. During this event, the club will unveil its official centenary logo and screen a special commemorative video honoring the team's history and the evolution of its emblem.

Simultaneously, the club launched a limited-edition commemorative jersey on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 19:26. The launch time was intentionally chosen to reflect the club's founding year. The release caused significant technical disruption on the official "Orange Shop" online platform, as high demand created a virtual queue with wait times reaching several hours. The commemorative shirt is part of a broader marketing effort under the slogan "100 years of history, 100 years of pride," and it will be worn by all club teams during the 2026-2027 season.
