Anorthosis completes Polish training camp with draw against Atromitos
Anorthosis Famagusta concluded its primary training stage in Kielce, Poland, on August 2, 2026, by playing to a goalless draw against the Greek side Atromitos. The match served as the third and final friendly fixture for the Cypriot team, which previously secured victories against Cracovia (1-0) and Stal Rzeszów (3-0). Under coach Nestor El Maestro, the team maintained an undefeated record throughout the Polish camp without conceding a single goal.
During the match, Anorthosis encountered an injury setback when player Furtado was forced to leave the pitch in the 19th minute due to muscular discomfort. Furthermore, midfielder Andreas Chrysostomou was confirmed to have returned to Cyprus earlier due to an allergic reaction. The match also saw the unofficial debut of Van Nieff, who played 45 minutes. Following this final test, the squad is scheduled to return to Cyprus on August 3, 2026.
