Cypriot passenger fined for undeclared luxury watches at Larnaca Airport

On July 29, 2026, customs officials at Larnaca Airport intercepted a Cypriot passenger arriving from Switzerland who was carrying three luxury watches without declaring them for taxation. The total value of the seized items was estimated at approximately €57,000.

Acting on intelligence, authorities discovered the items in the passenger's luggage upon arrival. As a consequence of the failure to declare the goods, the passenger was issued a fine and a financial penalty totaling €4,584. Additionally, the customs department collected the required import duties and taxes, which amounted to €10,843. The incident has been officially processed by the Customs Department, and the taxes have been paid in full.
