Diplomatic efforts to organize a new 5+1 Cyprus settlement meeting

While the goal is to restart negotiations from the 2017 Crans-Montana framework, the process faces challenges. Reports suggest Tufan Erhurman has introduced new conditions regarding the opening of additional crossing points, specifically mentioning the Arsos-Pyla and Louroujina routes, which some diplomatic sources interpret as a tactic potentially influenced by Ankara to delay the UN process. Despite these hurdles, presidential officials in Nicosia confirmed that efforts are actively underway to organize regular communication between the two leaders to ensure the necessary preparations for a successful 5+1 conference are completed.
