Cyprus government reports expenditures for 2025 Limassol wildfire relief
On August 3, 2026, the General Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus released a report detailing financial aid provided to victims of the July 2025 wildfires in the mountainous region of Limassol. As of June 30, 2026, the state has implemented support measures amounting to €23.2 million, which is part of a broader Integrated Support Plan with a total budget of €56.1 million approved by the Council of Ministers.
Authorities clarified that these expenditures were financed entirely from the state budget. Public donations totaling €1.7 million remain in a separate bank account and have not been utilized for these specific state-funded measures. Regarding these private contributions, the government previously announced an allocation plan, including the purchase of 17 firefighting vehicles for affected communities at a cost of €0.8 million, to bolster local fire protection infrastructure.
