Anorthosis spokesperson provides update on team preparation and status
Anorthosis Famagusta spokesperson Charalambos Parpettas provided an update on the team's progress following their training camp in Poland. The team concluded its preparation phase with a 0-0 draw against Atromitos, maintaining a clean sheet throughout all three friendly matches played during the camp. Coach Nestor El Maestro noted that while defensive progress is visible, further improvements are still required before the season begins. Parpettas also confirmed that the team will hold an official presentation event on August 4, promising surprises for the fans.
Regarding the squad's physical status, several players were sidelined during the camp. Chrysoostomou returned to Cyprus due to an allergic reaction but is expected to be available for selection soon. Aboagye was absent from the camp due to travel document issues and will rejoin the squad upon their return. Additionally, Stefanos Charalambous suffered a sprain before the team’s departure and is currently undergoing a recovery period.
Parpettas also marked the 21st anniversary of the historic 'Epic of Trabzon,' a significant moment in the club's history that continues to hold cultural importance. The club is now focusing on final preparations for the upcoming competitive season.
