Stelios Andreou to join Estoril on loan from Widzew Lodz

Cypriot international central defender Stelios Andreou is set to join the Portuguese club Estoril on a season-long loan from the Polish side Widzew Lodz. The 23-year-old player, who has earned 30 caps for the Cyprus national team, will reinforce the squad of coach Vasco Matos following the departures of Felix Bacher and Kevin Boma.

The agreement includes a non-mandatory purchase option valued at 1.5 million euros. Andreou is scheduled to travel to Portugal shortly to undergo medical examinations and formalize the contract, marking an end to speculation regarding a potential transfer to Maccabi Tel Aviv. His move to Estoril makes him the second Cypriot player to join the club, following Charis Kyriakou who played there during the 2017-18 season.

This transfer comes as Estoril finalizes its squad preparations for the upcoming season, with the team facing competitive obligations starting this Friday. The player is expected to integrate into training immediately upon the completion of his health checks.
