Arrests in Limassol following separate violent incidents

A 40-year-old Greek Cypriot man was arrested and remanded in custody for six days by the Limassol District Court following a violent altercation at a beach parking lot in the Amathus area. The incident, which occurred on August 2, began as a dispute over a parking space after the victim, a 48-year-old foreign national, allegedly caused minor damage to the suspect's vehicle. The suspect and other unidentified individuals reportedly attacked the victim, resulting in a broken nose and bruising. Limassol CID is continuing investigations to identify and apprehend the remaining participants.

In a separate case, three men aged 25, 23, and 21 were arrested in connection with a violent attack on a building site in Limassol that took place on July 20, 2026. The suspects are accused of conspiracy to commit a felony, assault, and extortion. According to reports, the group allegedly entered the site armed with weapons, including knives and iron bars, injuring a 53-year-old Greek Cypriot and a 26-year-old Syrian man. Police continue to investigate both cases as part of separate ongoing legal proceedings.
