Larnaca criminal court adjourns proceedings for four defendants

On Monday, August 3, 2026, the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court postponed the indictment proceedings for four individuals, aged 42, 44, 45, and 49, who are allegedly involved in a criminal syndicate. The investigation, led by the Larnaca CID, includes serious charges of extortion, threats, financial exploitation, and money laundering.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 18. Regarding the custody status of the defendants, the 45-year-old woman and 42-year-old man have been released on bail under specific conditions. Meanwhile, the 49-year-old remains in custody at the Central Prisons due to separate pending cases. A ruling on an objection filed by the 44-year-old defendant against his continued detention is expected to be delivered by the court on Thursday, August 6.
