Commercial redevelopment of the old GSP stadium in Nicosia
The Nicosia Municipal Council officially awarded a contract for the commercial utilization of the renovated old GSP stadium site on July 30, 2026. The project aims to transform the space into a vibrant hub for dining, retail, and public services in the heart of the capital. While initial interest was expressed by multiple groups, a single proposal was submitted by CATERCOM LTD PHC, a member of PHC Franchised Restaurants Public Ltd. The contract involves the management and development of five commercial units, which will house cafes, restaurants, bars, and retail stores.
In addition to the commercial units, a Citizens’ Service Centre is scheduled to open at the location within 2027. This initiative is designed to ensure the area remains active throughout the day, rather than serving solely as a venue for periodic events. The project now enters the implementation phase, pending the outcome of any potential appeals to the Tender Review Authority in the coming months.
