Eurostat data shows rise in online event ticket purchases in Cyprus
According to data released by Eurostat on August 4, 2026, Cyprus recorded a significant increase in online event ticket purchases in 2025. During the three months preceding the annual survey on information and communication technology usage, 34.1 percent of the population in Cyprus purchased tickets online for events such as festivals and concerts. This figure places the island well above the European Union average of 26.8 percent.
The EU-wide data shows a positive trend in digital consumer behavior, with a 3.8 percentage point increase compared to 2024. This growth reflects rising consumer confidence in digital platforms for entertainment bookings. Among all EU member states, Ireland reported the highest level of engagement, with 51.5 percent of its citizens utilizing online channels to purchase event tickets. The survey highlights how the summer season, characterized by a busy calendar of festivals and concerts, serves as a primary driver for these digital transactions across the bloc.
