Ministry of Justice initiates development of inter-agency violence prevention platform

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Costas Fytiris, has initiated the development of a new digital platform designed to improve the coordination and management of violence-related incidents. Two high-level meetings regarding this project took place on Friday, July 31, and Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The project involves a multidisciplinary approach, with representatives from the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, the Commissioner for Gender Equality, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, social services, and the police. The platform aims to facilitate the secure exchange of information between these agencies based on established protocols. This framework is expected to allow for the early identification of risk factors, the prevention of escalating violent behavior, and a more coordinated response to protect victims.

Currently in the design phase, the initiative focuses on creating a comprehensive technological system. The government seeks to harmonize efforts across departments to streamline communication and enhance public safety through proactive technological intervention.
