AEK Larnaca set to sign Swedish midfielder Kerim Mrabti
AEK Larnaca is finalizing a deal to sign 32-year-old Swedish international Kerim Mrabti, aiming to bolster the team's midfield. Mrabti, who is currently a free agent, joins the club following a successful six-year tenure at the Belgian side Mechelen.
The experienced midfielder is expected to fill the void left by Markus Roden, providing leadership and tactical flexibility as he can operate effectively as both a central and an attacking midfielder. During his final season at Mechelen, Mrabti made 34 appearances, recording five goals and three assists. His career also includes previous stints in Sweden and England, along with three international appearances for the Swedish national team.
While OmegaLive reports that a formal agreement has already been reached, AlphaNews characterizes the current status as advanced negotiations. The move is directed by AEK's sporting staff as they seek to solidify their lineup for the upcoming season.
