Benfica rejects multimillion-euro offer for Vangelis Pavlidis

Benfica has formally declined a transfer offer from Turkish club Fenerbahce for Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis. According to reports from the Portuguese outlet A Bola on August 4, 2026, the bid reached a total value of 50 million euros, including a fixed fee of 40 million euros and additional performance-based bonuses.

Despite the significant financial incentive, Benfica’s management and manager Marco Silva rejected the proposal immediately. The club considers the striker a cornerstone of their tactical plans for the current season, opting to retain him on their roster at Estadio da Luz.

Pavlidis has demonstrated strong form, recently scoring four goals in a single match against St. Gallen during the UEFA Europa League qualifiers. This follows an impressive previous season where the forward recorded 30 goals and 6 assists across 53 appearances, confirming his status as a key asset for the team.
