Pilot arrested in Indonesia for smuggling over 70,000 ecstasy pills

A 39-year-old Malaysian pilot, identified by the initials MS, was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia, following the discovery of illicit drugs in his luggage. Security personnel flagged the pilot’s bag during an X-ray check, leading to the seizure of 70,114 ecstasy tablets, weighing approximately 26 kilograms, along with 4 grams of methamphetamine.

In addition to the smuggling charges, the pilot tested positive for cocaine and methamphetamine. Authorities also discovered a bottle of urine in his possession, which investigators believe was intended to bypass mandatory drug testing protocols. Security camera footage captured the moment officials opened the suspect's luggage, revealing the contents while the pilot was still in his uniform following a passenger flight.

Local law enforcement is currently conducting an investigation to determine the origin and intended destination of the narcotics. The suspect remains in custody as authorities continue to process evidence related to the smuggling operation and the pilot’s attempt to evade substance screening.
