National Bank of Greece offers fee-free ATM withdrawals in Cyprus and Greece

The National Bank of Greece (NBG) has announced a new service enhancement for its customers operating in Cyprus and Greece. As of August 2026, holders of Mastercard Retail and Mastercard Business debit cards are entitled to up to five free cash withdrawals per month, per card, from any ATM located in either country.

This initiative aims to provide greater flexibility for personal and professional banking. By allowing customers to use any ATM network without incurring fees, the bank intends to eliminate the need for users to search for specific service points. The decision reflects a strategic shift toward more accessible banking, acknowledging that many customers, including students, families, and business professionals, frequently travel between Cyprus and Greece.

This policy is currently in effect and applies to all eligible Mastercard debit cards issued by the bank. No further administrative actions are required by the customers to access this benefit, as it is automatically applied to all eligible accounts to facilitate everyday financial transactions.
