Industrial turnover in Cyprus sees growth in May 2026

Cyprus experienced a positive trend in industrial output during May 2026, with the total industrial turnover index rising by 3.5% compared to the same month in 2025. According to the Statistical Service, the index reached 148.0 points, while the cumulative growth for the first five months of 2026 settled at 3.4% relative to the same period in the previous year.

The manufacturing sector saw a more modest growth of 2.6%, reaching 151.4 points. Within this sector, the furniture manufacturing and equipment repair segment recorded the highest increase, growing by 14.6%. Conversely, the production of machinery, motor vehicles, and other transport equipment faced a decline of 10.7%. Other industrial segments also reported gains, including water supply and material recovery with a 13.8% increase, electricity supply up by 6.1%, and mining and quarrying rising by 2.1%.

These figures highlight a period of recovery for the domestic industrial sector, which has maintained consistent growth throughout the first five months of the year. The data provided by the authorities offers an overview of the ongoing performance of industrial activities in the country, tracking fluctuations across specific manufacturing and utility categories.
