Greek national team performance at the 38th European Aquatics Championships in Paris

The Greek national artistic swimming team secured sixth place in the technical team program final at the 38th European Aquatics Championships in Paris on Tuesday. The team, composed of Thalia Dampali, Olga Imvrioti, Ismini Karavasili, Sofia Malkogeorgou, Vasiliki Thanou, Danai Tsaprali, Georgia Myrto Zaggana, and Stelios Koukouselis-Fouskis, scored 270.7375 points. The event was won by the team of neutral athletes representing Russia with 303.2467 points, followed by Spain and Italy. Earlier in the tournament, Greece achieved fourth place in the free team program, while Anna-Maria and Eirini Alexandri secured two gold medals in the duet category.

In the open water swimming discipline, Greek athlete Alkis Kinygakis finished eighth in the men's 5km race held in the Seine. Kinygakis maintained a position within the top ten throughout the majority of the race, finishing with a time behind the winner, German Olympic champion Florian Wellbrock, who clocked 55:40.2. Hungary’s David Betlehem took the silver, and Italian Gregorio Paltrinieri earned the bronze. Georgia Makri participated in the women's 10km event, finishing in 20th place with a time of 2:12:58.1.
