APOEL Nicosia strengthens squad with Facundo Perez and prepares for new season

APOEL Nicosia is in the final stages of signing 27-year-old Argentine midfielder Facundo Perez. The player has already arrived in Cyprus to finalize the transfer and undergo necessary medical examinations. According to reports, Perez will sign a two-year contract extending until May 2028, joining as a free agent with his former club, Lanus, retaining a percentage of any future sale. APOEL’s spokesperson, Nektarios Petevinos, confirmed that the deal is nearing completion as the club works to integrate new players under manager Nikos Papadopoulos.

Simultaneously, APOEL is focusing on pre-season preparations, including a friendly match against Kifisia at the GSP Stadium. Technical director Zisis Vryzas is reportedly still seeking at least three additional reinforcements, including a goalkeeper, an attacking midfielder, and a center-forward. The team is currently fine-tuning its tactical identity following a series of pre-season friendlies, aiming to build cohesion before the start of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan season, where they will debut against AEK Larnaca.
