Couple murdered in execution-style attack at a bar in Colombia

On the night of Saturday, August 1, a couple identified as Andres Felipe Gonzalez Rodriguez and Karen Vanessa Saldarriaga Garcia was killed in a targeted shooting at a bar in the city of Fusagasuga, Colombia. Surveillance footage shows a masked gunman entering the establishment shortly before 9:00 p.m. and opening fire on the victims. During the attack, Garcia was captured on video attempting to shield her partner from the gunfire.

Andres Felipe Gonzalez Rodriguez died instantly at the scene, while Karen Vanessa Saldarriaga Garcia succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a local hospital. Following the execution-style attack, Colombian authorities launched an investigation into the incident. Police subsequently arrested two male suspects allegedly involved in the murder. During the operation, officers seized the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting and a motorcycle that the suspects utilized to flee the scene.

The brutal nature of the crime has caused significant public outcry and grief among the residents of Fusagasuga, as well as the families and friends of the victims. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive behind the double homicide.
