Cyprus launches new digital services for salary and pension account updates

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, the General Accounting Office of the Republic of Cyprus launched three new digital services via the government portal gov.cy. This initiative allows serving and retired public officials, government employees, and hourly paid staff to update the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) used for receiving their salaries or pensions. The services are accessible through the 'Salaries and Pensions of Public Officials, Employees and Hourly Paid Government Personnel' section on the gov.cy portal.

Developed by the Treasury in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the platform is designed to provide a secure, efficient, and direct electronic process for account modifications. By digitizing these administrative procedures, the government aims to enhance the quality of service for citizens while reducing reliance on paper documentation. This shift is also intended to support the national transition toward a more sustainable and greener economy.
