Cyprus Treasury launches three new digital services for bank account changes
On Thursday, August 6, 2026, the Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus launched three new digital services designed to streamline the process of updating bank account information for salary and pension payments. These services are accessible through the official government portal, gov.cy, under the section dedicated to salaries and pensions for state officials, employees, and hourly-paid government personnel.
The new system allows both active and retired state officials, employees, and government hourly staff to update their International Bank Account Number (IBAN) online. By shifting this process to the gov.cy portal, the Treasury aims to provide a simpler, more direct, and secure method for users to manage their financial details. This initiative is part of a broader government effort to digitize administrative procedures and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens.
While the services are now active and available for public use, individuals are required to meet specific prerequisites to submit their requests through the portal. This update follows a continuous commitment by the Treasury to modernize its infrastructure, effectively replacing older, more manual methods of administrative record-keeping with electronic alternatives.
