Cypriot mother seeks urgent funding for rare cancer treatment in England

Elena Antoniadou, a 37-year-old Special Education teacher from Cyprus and mother of three young children, requires urgent medical intervention for a rare form of cancer. Following six to seven months of testing for a persistent shoulder pain, she was diagnosed with an angiosarcoma, a condition occurring in less than one in a million people globally. The tumor is positioned between nerves, rendering surgical removal highly complex and requiring specialized treatment at a medical center in London, England.

The total cost of the surgery, treatment, and associated travel and accommodation expenses for the family is estimated to exceed €100,000. The situation is particularly distressing as Elena's husband is also managing his own health issues, and their children are aged five years and under, with the youngest being approximately 11 months old. The diagnosis was identified shortly after the birth of her third child.

To facilitate the necessary funding, the charitable organization Wings of Hope has launched an official appeal to the public. As the medical procedure is time-sensitive and requires an immediate departure, the community has been urged to provide financial support to cover the substantial costs of the life-saving journey.
