Mykhailo Mudryk returns to professional football after doping investigation

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has officially returned to professional football after a hiatus of 615 days. The athlete's absence followed a positive doping test result in late 2024, which triggered a prolonged investigation. After more than 20 months on the sidelines, Mudryk has been cleared to compete, marking a major milestone in his career.

Throughout his suspension, Mudryk maintained his physical fitness through rigorous individual training sessions. Upon his exoneration, he traveled to Hong Kong to join the pre-season training camp of Chelsea, now managed by Xabi Alonso. His return to the pitch occurred during a match against Juventus, where he appeared as a substitute to a supportive reception from his teammates and coaching staff.

The case stems from the doping investigation initiated in late 2024. While the player was sidelined, he remained under contract, eventually resuming his role within the squad once the clearance was finalized. The club and the player are now focusing on his integration back into regular competitive fixtures.
