Famagusta District Organization signs water network improvement agreement with KIOS Center
On August 6, 2026, the Famagusta District Organization (EOAA) officially signed a partnership agreement with the KIOS Center of Excellence in Research and Innovation. The collaboration is designed to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and long-term sustainability of the water supply network within the Famagusta district through advanced technological integration.
The project, officially titled "Research Support for Smart Management Actions of the EOAA Water Network through Hydraulic Modeling and Reporting System Development," involves a nine-month timeline. With a total budget of 76,000 euros, the initiative focuses on creating sophisticated hydraulic models and implementing modern monitoring and reporting systems. By leveraging the academic expertise of the University of Cyprus’s KIOS Center, the EOAA aims to optimize water resource management and improve overall infrastructure performance.
This partnership represents a strategic effort to modernize critical public utility infrastructure. The project will utilize existing technical and operational data to establish a framework for ongoing oversight. The implementation phase is now underway, with the nine-month project schedule expected to deliver actionable insights and automated tools for district water management.
