Nicosia Municipality announces operational changes for August holidays

The Nicosia Municipality has announced that all municipal offices and services will remain closed on Saturday, August 15, in observance of the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. During this period, the Agios Antonios Municipal Market, the 'OXI' People's Market, and the Wholesale Market will also be closed. Specifically, the Agios Antonios Market will extend its closure through August 19, resuming operations on Thursday, August 20.

Despite the holiday, the municipality confirmed that household waste collection will continue as scheduled without any disruptions. Citizens are advised that temporary Green Points in Kaimakli and Agios Dometios remain closed for their annual summer maintenance period from August 1 through August 16. During this time, residents are encouraged to utilize state-operated Green Points, which will also be inaccessible on the August 15 public holiday. Normal operations for these facilities are expected to resume following the conclusion of the maintenance and holiday schedules.
