Cyprus passport reaches 13th place in 2026 global rankings

In the 2026 Henley Passport Index, the Cypriot passport has risen to 13th place globally, granting holders visa-free access to 175 destinations. This improvement follows the 14th-place ranking held in 2025. The country's highest historical ranking remains the 12th position, previously achieved in 2006 and 2024.

Singapore maintains the lead in the 2026 rankings, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations, followed by a tie for second place among Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates with 188 destinations. Greece continues to rank significantly higher than Cyprus, holding the 5th position with access to 185 countries. The Henley Passport Index, which utilizes data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), evaluates 199 passports based on the number of destinations accessible without prior visa requirements. This ranking remains a key international metric for assessing travel freedom and international mobility.
