Visa introduces Click to Pay service in Cyprus

Visa has officially launched the Click to Pay payment service in Cyprus, aiming to streamline online shopping for consumers. This global standard, based on the EMV® Secure Remote Commerce technology developed by EMVCo, simplifies the checkout process by removing the need for users to manually enter their 16-digit card number, expiration date, and CVV code for every transaction.

The service functions as an online equivalent to contactless 'tap to pay' transactions used in physical stores. As online shopping continues to rise in popularity following trends accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Visa is collaborating with local banks to implement this infrastructure. This rollout is intended to provide a more consistent, secure, and user-friendly payment experience across various websites and mobile applications, addressing the growing demand for faster digital checkout solutions.
