Omonia Nicosia linked to the transfer of Jean-Kevin Duverne
French media reports, specifically the newspaper Ouest-France, have announced that 29-year-old Haitian international defender Jean-Kevin Duverne is departing FC Nantes to join the Cypriot first-division club Omonia Nicosia. Although Duverne had one year remaining on his contract with Nantes, reports indicate he is leaving as a free agent. The versatile defender, who can operate as both a center-back and a full-back, participated in the 2026 World Cup representing Haiti. Over the past three years, he has gained experience through loan spells at Belgian clubs KV Kortrijk and KAA Gent.
While some initial reports suggested a finalized transfer, subsequent updates from Cypriot sources clarify that Omonia views the player as a primary target to strengthen their defensive line, particularly the right side. The club is currently in negotiations to bring him to Nicosia. The situation remains active as the team evaluates his recruitment to bolster their squad for the upcoming season, following his recent tenure at Nantes where he was part of their defensive rotation.
