Ninety-seven-year-old Betty Bromage sets world record with wing walk
Betty Bromage, a 97-year-old resident of Cheltenham, England, has successfully completed a wing walk, officially securing her title as the oldest woman to perform the stunt. This achievement marks her sixth wing walk since she first began the activity at the age of 87 and breaks her own previous Guinness World Record set four years ago. The stunt involved the daredevil senior standing atop a moving aircraft during flight, demonstrating continued physical resilience despite health challenges.
Beyond the record, the event served a charitable purpose, as Bromage aimed to raise funds for the Stroke Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital. She was treated at this facility following a stroke in 2025, which continues to impact her speech. Despite personal frustrations regarding vision and her inability to drive, Bromage remains undeterred and has already expressed an ambition to perform an even more spectacular stunt when she reaches 100 years of age.
