Taha El Kebbe transfers to APOEL futsal team
On August 7, 2026, APOEL Futsal announced the signing of Cypriot international player Taha El Kebbe on a five-year contract. The club described the acquisition as a significant reinforcement for their domestic and European ambitions, praising the athlete's experience and unique skill set. El Kebbe previously played for Elpida Astromeriti, Omonia, and most recently AEL Limassol.
Following the announcement, AEL Futsal released a critical statement regarding the player's departure. The club revealed that the transfer represented the most lucrative financial deal in the history of Cypriot futsal to date. However, AEL officials clarified that the player was released because he failed to meet the team's professional standards, citing his absence from 61 training sessions and approximately half of the club's official matches during the previous season. Consequently, the player was deemed surplus to requirements for AEL's future tactical plans.
