Apollon Limassol signs Swedish winger Joel Asoro

Apollon Limassol has officially completed the signing of 27-year-old Swedish winger Joel Asoro, finalizing their summer recruitment plan. The club announced the agreement with the player's parent club, Metz, via an SMS notification on August 10, 2026, marking the team's ninth summer addition.

Asoro arrived in Cyprus on August 8 to undergo mandatory medical examinations, which were a prerequisite for finalizing the deal. Having previously played for clubs including Sunderland, Swansea, and Groningen, and coming off a full season on loan at Djurgården, the player is expected to join the squad immediately without the need for an extended acclimatization period.
