Two members of a criminal organization arrested in Athens

Greek police conducted a coordinated operation yesterday afternoon in Paleo Faliro, near the border with Kallithea, resulting in the arrest of two individuals associated with a criminal organization. One of the suspects is a 49-year-old man who had been wanted since 2025 by the Extortion Department. Authorities identified him as part of the operational team of the "Entik" gang, a group known for extorting business owners and committing violent assaults. The man had reportedly fled Greece but returned recently, allowing police to track and apprehend him.

Alongside the 49-year-old, officers arrested a second individual already known to authorities for the same case. This second suspect was part of a criminal ring dismantled in August 2025 for activities including cigarette smuggling, extortion, and physical violence. Although the second suspect had been released under restrictive conditions in March 2026, the latest operation led to his re-arrest. These arrests mark a continuation of the state's efforts to dismantle the remains of the organization since the initial crackdown in 2025.
