Cyprus achieves historic success at the GEN-E 2026 entrepreneurship competition in Riga
In July 2026, Cyprus achieved a historic double distinction at GEN-E, the largest European youth entrepreneurship competition held in Riga, Latvia. Competing against participants from over 40 countries, two Cypriot teams earned recognition for their innovative business projects.
The student team HerShield, from St. Mary's School in Limassol, secured third place in the "Company of the Year" category. Simultaneously, the university-level team LIVIA won the "Start-Up Innovation" title and the FedEx Access Award. These achievements mark a significant milestone for the Cypriot entrepreneurship ecosystem, which involves extensive cooperation between educational institutions and mentorship programs directed by Junior Achievement Cyprus.
Antigoni Komodiki, CEO of Junior Achievement Cyprus, stated that this success is the result of a long-term strategy focused on building a robust support network for young innovators. Moving forward, the organization aims to further strengthen the connection between youth business ideas, international networks, and private investment opportunities to facilitate the transition of these projects into the real market.
