Ongoing roadworks and traffic disruptions across Cyprus
Municipal authorities in Nicosia and Paphos have announced a series of road maintenance projects impacting traffic flow. In Nicosia, the municipality is replacing asphalt on several key streets, including parts of Ilias Papakyriakou, Larnakos, Kyrenias, Christodoulou Sozou, Vasileos Pavlou, and Sofouli, between August 10 and August 11, with work occurring from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
In Paphos, roadworks in front of the district administration building were completed on August 11, allowing for the reopening of the area. However, pavement repairs on Nikodimou Mylona Street, specifically between Georgiou Christoforou Street and Kyrenia Square, will remain ongoing until August 11 at 2:00 pm. Traffic management plans have been implemented to mitigate disruptions.
Additionally, the Public Works Department announced upcoming maintenance on the Limassol-Troodos road and major highways. From August 24 to December 23, 2026, wall reinforcement work near Psilo Dentro will narrow the road to a single lane. Furthermore, between August 17 and August 27, guardrail replacements will take place at night on the Limassol-Nicosia and Limassol-Paphos highways, specifically between Skarinou and Petra tou Romiou, with temporary lane closures.
