Cypriot swimmers compete at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships in Paris

Cypriot swimmers Kalia Antoniou and Maria Erokhina are currently competing at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships held in Paris. On August 10, Kalia Antoniou participated in the 100m freestyle, finishing 17th after a tie-breaker race against Belgian athlete Roos Vanotterdijk, which left her as the first alternate for the semifinals.

On August 11, Antoniou returned to the pool for the 50m butterfly event, where she placed 30th out of 51 competitors with a time of 26.69. Maria Erokhina made her tournament debut on the same day in the 100m breaststroke, finishing 36th out of 45 participants with a time of 1:10.04. The Cyprus Swimming Federation has formally recognized their efforts and acknowledged the support of their sponsors, Allwyn and Arena Greece.

Looking ahead, both athletes are scheduled to continue their participation in the championships. On Thursday, August 13, Kalia Antoniou is set to compete in the 50m freestyle, while Maria Erokhina will participate in the 200m breaststroke.
