Spain faces critical forest fires in Valencia and Andalusia

Simultaneously, a massive wildfire in the Huelva province of Andalusia, which began last week, has burned approximately 8,000 hectares, with some reports suggesting the area affected could exceed 20,000 hectares. Regional emergency official Antonio Sanz stated that 600 firefighters and 26 aerial assets are deployed in Huelva, where shifting, unpredictable winds and rugged terrain have hampered containment efforts. Approximately 800 people have been evacuated in the area to date, including residents of El Madrono, as authorities manage new flare-ups near the Corumbel Bajo reservoir.
