Dimitris Giannakopoulos discusses unsuccessful attempt to sign Nikola Jokic

Giannakopoulos revealed that he reached out to Jokic’s agent, Misko Raznatovic, and engaged in discussions with the Denver Nuggets to facilitate a buyout of the center’s final contract year, but the proposal was rejected by the parties involved.

Despite this setback, Giannakopoulos expressed his firm intention to pursue the Serbian player again in the future. He noted that the current roster presents logistical challenges, as the team already holds three players on three-year contracts in similar positions, specifically citing Guerschon Yabusele, Mathias Lessort, and Moustapha Fall. During the interview, he also reflected on his admiration for Milos Teodosic, describing him alongside Saras Jasikevicius and Dimitris Diamantidis as the most intelligent and talented players he has encountered on the court.
