APOEL signs Facundo Perez and targets new reinforcements
APOEL Nicosia has officially confirmed the signing of 27-year-old Argentine midfielder Facundo Perez. The transfer from the Argentine club Lanus marks the team's eighth addition this summer, as they prepare for the upcoming football season. Perez, who previously played in Greece for Panetolikos and AEL Larissa, joins the team to strengthen the midfield, bringing energy and tactical versatility to the squad directed by coach Nikos Papadopoulos and sporting director Zisis Vryzas.
Beyond this acquisition, the club is actively pursuing further reinforcements. Management is currently in discussions with 35-year-old free agent Roberto Pereyra, who recently left AEK Athens, to add experience to the central midfield. Additionally, the team is seeking an additional forward and a goalkeeper to provide competitive depth behind the current starter, Vid Belec, as they aim to balance their squad for both domestic and potential European challenges. The club’s spokesperson, Nektarios Petevinos, confirmed that transfer activities remain ongoing as the team continues its pre-season preparations and marks its centenary year.
