Cypriot athletes compete at the 27th European Athletics Championships in Birmingham

The second day of the 27th European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, features three Cypriot athletes competing in their respective disciplines. The team aims to achieve personal bests and demonstrate high performance during this major international event.

The schedule begins with Loizos Chrysostomou in the high jump qualification, followed by Milan Trajkovic participating in the first round of the 110m hurdles. In the evening session, Iosif Kesidis is set to compete in the hammer throw final. For 22-year-old Loizos Chrysostomou, this marks his first appearance at a premier European athletic event, following his successful qualification performance of 2.19m in Kallithea on May 27, 2026.
