Two men charged in fatal hit-and-run of Cypriot woman in London

In January 2024, 28-year-old Laura Sone-Demetrious, a Cypriot national residing in London, was killed while crossing the A10 road in Enfield. The victim was walking her two dogs, both of which also died in the incident. Police were only able to identify the woman through the identification tag attached to one of her deceased pets. The vehicle involved in the collision reportedly fled the scene immediately after the impact.

Following an investigation, two men from Tottenham, 20-year-old Sedor Olmez and 31-year-old Roderick Mirzakhanian, have appeared before the Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court. Both men face charges of causing death by dangerous driving. Additionally, Olmez faces a separate charge of driving without insurance in connection with the fatal incident that occurred on January 9. Legal proceedings are currently underway to address these charges as the community remembers Sone-Demetrious, an Arsenal supporter and Tottenham Stadium employee, for her vibrant character.
