Those involved in the production and distribution of adult content face severe penalties, including heavy fines and prison sentences of up to six years.

Legal experts warn that the state's crackdown extends beyond the creators themselves to include photographers, managers, and producers associated with the industry. Reports from international media indicate that this state-led initiative has resulted in numerous arrests across Russia. Some observers suggest the motivation may also be linked to fiscal concerns, as the sector operates outside the state's tax regime during a period of heavy military spending.

A notable case involves 21-year-old Sofia Vershina, known online as Sonya Marmeladova, who was recently convicted for producing and distributing pornographic content. She received a three-year suspended sentence along with a fine. The authorities are expected to continue their enforcement operations against other individuals involved in the digital adult content market.
