Aphrodite Latinopoulou targeted by verbal assault in Tinos

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Aphrodite Latinopoulou, president of the Voice of Reason party and member of the European Parliament, was subjected to a verbal attack by a group of Roma individuals at the port of Tinos. The politician was waiting to board a ferry to Rafina with her mother and was traveling without police security when the incident occurred.

The confrontation began when the group approached Latinopoulou to initiate a dialogue, with one individual claiming that not all members of their community are the same. Latinopoulou replied that she holds no animosity toward those who pay taxes and refrain from criminal activities like theft or electricity theft, noting her criticisms are reserved for lawbreakers. This response reportedly triggered an aggressive reaction, leading the individuals to shower her with vulgar insults. Following the event, Latinopoulou officially notified the Hellenic Police.
