Police search for two suspects after construction site stabbing in Limassol
On the morning of August 14, 2026, a violent incident occurred at a construction site in the Zakaki area of Limassol. A 24-year-old contractor was attacked and stabbed by a 22-year-old former employee, who was accompanied by a 20-year-old individual. The assault followed a heated verbal argument related to professional grievances, specifically the attacker's recent termination. Both the victim and the suspects are reported as third-country nationals.
The victim sustained superficial injuries to his abdomen and legs, including an arterial injury to his left knee. He was initially transported to the Limassol General Hospital by friends and subsequently transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital for further specialized treatment. His medical condition is currently reported as stable and out of danger. Local police have cordoned off the crime scene and secured CCTV footage showing the two suspects fleeing the area in a vehicle. Judicial warrants have been issued for the arrest of the two men, and an extensive manhunt is currently underway by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to locate them.
