Recent violent incidents in Limassol involve stabbings

Two separate stabbing incidents occurred in Limassol this week, raising concerns about local safety. In the first case, which took place on the night of August 11, a 44-year-old Iranian man was stabbed by his 37-year-old brother during a dispute at their shared home. A 30-year-old associate was also arrested in connection with the attack. The Limassol District Court has ordered both suspects to be remanded for seven days to facilitate police investigations, while the victim has received medical treatment and was discharged from the hospital.

A second, unrelated attack occurred on August 14 at a construction site in the Zakaki area. A 22-year-old suspect, accompanied by a 20-year-old, stabbed his 24-year-old former employer following a dispute over his recent dismissal. The victim sustained injuries to his abdomen and legs, including an arterial injury, and was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains out of danger. Police have issued arrest warrants for the two suspects, who fled the scene, and are currently conducting an extensive manhunt to locate them.
