Two men arrested following stabbing of 44-year-old in Limassol

Police in Limassol have arrested two men, aged 30 and 37, following a violent incident late Tuesday night that left a 44-year-old Iranian man injured. The victim, who was at his home with the two suspects, sustained lacerations to his head and neck, along with a nose injury, and was treated at Limassol General Hospital before being discharged on Wednesday morning.

Investigations revealed that the 37-year-old suspect is the victim's brother and roommate. During the incident, the 37-year-old allegedly attacked the victim with a knife. Police located both suspects shortly after the event; both were found in possession of knives, which were seized as evidence. Although initially detained for the flagrant offense of carrying a knife, they were subsequently arrested on judicial warrants.

The suspects are currently refusing to cooperate with authorities, and the exact motives behind the dispute remain under investigation. Both men were scheduled to appear before a Limassol court on Wednesday to face requests for remand orders as the Criminal Investigation Department continues its inquiries into the circumstances of the attack.
