Two men arrested in Limassol following a knife attack

Police in Limassol have arrested two men, aged 30 and 37, following a violent assault on a 44-year-old man that occurred late on the night of August 11, 2026. The victim, who lived with the 37-year-old suspect, was attacked inside his home. According to investigators, the 37-year-old allegedly used a knife to inflict wounds to the victim's head, neck, and nose. The injured man was transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he remains hospitalized for medical treatment.

Following the incident, law enforcement authorities tracked down the 30-year-old suspect driving in Limassol, where they discovered a knife in his vehicle. Shortly thereafter, officers located the 37-year-old suspect in the Limassol district and seized another knife from his possession. Both individuals were arrested for carrying weapons and are currently in custody. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is continuing its investigation into the assault, and both suspects are expected to appear in court for a remand hearing.
