Dromolaxia-Meneou mayor criticizes delays in Pervolia seafront project

The second phase of the Pervolia seafront path in the Dromolaxia-Meneou municipality has faced an eight-year delay, with the Department of Town Planning and Housing failing to meet its commitment to issue a tender by June 2026. The project, which covers an extension of 1.3 kilometers, remains stalled despite the municipality’s urgent calls for action.

Mayor Kypros Andronikou expressed concern over the lack of progress, noting that authorities attributed the latest delay to pending measurements, a justification he dismissed as inadequate. The project, which initially saw its first phase completed in 2017, encountered previous setbacks including a required redesign after portions were found to be within the wave dissipation zone. While the tender is now expected in the second half of 2026, no fixed date has been provided, leaving the municipality waiting for the long-promised infrastructure upgrade.
